Highlights of my life.
Greeting and salutations!
My name is Tia D'Asaro and I fell in love with math when I was in 5th grade.
The best thing about math is that there are many paths to one solution. The multiple ways people can think about math makes math so beautiful. As a mathematics teacher, I will foster an open-mind-set in my students so that they will not only think of math in one direction, but stop and think about how someone else is thinking about the math concept. I believe that when students take the time to listen and try to understand something from a different perspective, they not only solidify the content, but they have new found respect of people who see the problem in a different light.
I grew up in Escondido where I was a Patriot at Orange Glen High School. From there went to CSU Chico until my father had a triple bypass surgery. I then transferred to CSU San Marcos, gaining a Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics and then into the credential program at CSU San Marcos. Throughout my career as a student, I have worked closely with schools and programs such as AVID and Migrant Education, Area III.
